Go Public Schools

On March 12th, we will hear more perspectives ana analysis of our local educational environment with Mark Heringer, Managing Director, and Natalie Tovani-Walchuk, Chief Impact Officer, from GO Public Schools. They will be discussing an exploration of student education outcomes in West Contra Costa County and strategies to improve them.

Forum Presentation, February 12

On Thursday, February 12 the Forum was honored to have Lesley Reckler as our Speaker.

WCCUSD Board Trustee, Lesley Reckler giving a very informed presentation.

The West County Forum was honored to have West Contra Costa County Unified School District Board Trustee, Leslie Reckler, as our guest speaker on February 12th. She shared her thoughts about the state of education in California and the nation, the WCCUSD, and the recent strike. We learned about facility updates, two schools merging due to a closure, decreased enrollment and attendance, as well as increased costs. Trustee Reckler was a wealth of information for sure.

Forum Presentation, January 8

On January 8th, we had a very dynamic presentation by David Schoenthal, the Senior Public and Government Affairs Advisor at the Phillips 66 Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex. Not only did Schoenthal provide a wealth of information about the conversion and framework of this elaborate facility, but he did so in a very engaging and interesting manner. Who knew a discussion involving feedstock (ie used cooking oil) could be such a fun presentation, yet that is what makes the West County Forum such an amazing experience!
